New Restaurant Entrepreneur
ten points for economics homework help?
Entrepreneurs are, by nature, stubborn. The late Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers, often recounted how many of his friends and advisors recommended that he not start Wendy’s since the United States already had plenty of fast food restaurants. Many new business fail, and knowing when to get out can be as important as when to keep going. Suppose you started a business when you finished your college studies and your first year accounting profit is $25,000. Should you continue in the business or should you leave? In answering these questions consider opportunity costs, personal desires, and life goals.
This question is very subjective. First year profit is not enough information for any real assessment, so I assume you’re supposed to make a lot of stuff up. What you should really take into account is what you expect profit to be for the next fifty years, or at least the next year. $25,000 is not a lavish income, but if it looks like it’s going to improve, it would be worth continuing.
