What are the companies providing the best financial aid (assistance) to its employees/students?Server(Waiter)?

I am planning to go to a very expensive school but I don’t have money to pay for tuition. Yes, I will apply for financial aid but I would like to know what are the best restaurant and hotel chains offering the best financial help to their employees. I used to work for the Hard Rock Cafe and one of my co-workers received 10 grand a year towards tuition. She showed up to work once a week to maintain the grant.

Financial aid for tuition from companies falls into three categories:

1.) Scholarships – these must be applied for like any other, and they usually have more people applying than scholarships available.
2.) Tuition payment – some companies will pay your tuition up front. This is rare – most do…
3.) Tuition reimbursement. In this case, the company will reimburse your costs for an approved course or degree program, provided it meets their criteria. Make sure to read all the documentation for the company – some will want you to pursue specific degrees. Most require a B or C or better for reimbursement, and almost all have a limit to how much you can claim in a year, and requirements about how often you had to work. Your ex-coworker at Hard Rock probably had some special award, because the Hard Rock site does not specifically mention tuition reimbursement (even for managers).

As a general rule, the best programs are offered by larger companies (in The Restaurant Business – chains and fast food) – I’d suggest looking there first. The hard part may be balancing the tuition reimbursement plan with making enough to pay your other bills. As a note, most companies offer less for part-time than full-time employees.

Also, don’t limit yourself to restaurant and hotels – check out any business that does phone work – they too may have flexible hours, as well the reimbursement you’re looking for.

Opening a Restaurant or Other Food Business Starter Kit: How to Prepare a Restaurant Business Plan and Feasibility Study [With CDR

Opening a Restaurant or Other Food Business Starter Kit: How to Prepare a Restaurant Business Plan and Feasibility Study [With CDR

$33.87

Restaurants are one of the most frequently started small businesses, yet have one of the highest failure rates. Survivors need a powerful strategic advantage: a sound business plan and feasibility study prior to opening. A new study from the Ohio State University has found the restaurant industry failure rate between 1996 and 1999 to be between 57-61 percent over three years. Don’t be a statistic on the wrong side, plan now for success. A business plan precisely defines your business, identifies your goals and serves as your firm’s resume. The basic components include a current and pro forma balance sheet, an income statement and a cash flow analysis. It helps you allocate resources properly, handle unforeseen complications and make good business decisions. Because it provides specific and organized information about your company and how you will repay borrowed money, a good business plan is a crucial part of any loan application. Additionally, it informs personnel, suppliers and others about your operations and goals. Despite the critical importance of a business plan, many entrepreneurs drag their feet when it comes to preparing a written document. They argue that their marketplace changes too fast for a business to be useful, or that they just don’t have enough time. But just as a builder won’t begin construction without a blueprint, eager business owners shouldn’t rush into new ventures without a business plan. The CD-Rom will cover the following subjects: elements of a business plan, cover sheet, statement of purpose, the business, description of the restaurant, marketing, competition, operating procedures, personnel, business insurance, financial data, loan applications, captialequipment and supply list, balance sheet, breakeven analysis, pro-forma income projections (profit and loss statements), three-year summary, detail by month, first year, detail by quarters, second and third years, assumptions upon which projections were based, pro-forma cash flow, supporting documents for franchised business, a copy of proposed lease or purchase agreement for building space, copy of licenses and other legal documents, copy of resumes of all principals, copies of letters of intent from suppliers, etc.

Financial Accounting

Libby/Libby/Short wrote this text based on their belief that the subject of financial accounting is inherently interesting, but financial accounting textbooks are often not. They believe most financial accounting textbooks fail to demonstrate that accounting is an exciting field of study and one that is important to future careers in business. When writing this text, they considered "career relevance" as their guide when selecting material, and the need to "engage the student" as their guide to style, pedagogy, and design. Libby/Libby/Short is the only financial accounting text to successfully implement a real-world, single focus company approach in every chapter. Students and instructors have responded very favorably to the use of focus companies and the real-world financial statements. The companies chosen are engaging and the decision-making focus shows the relevance of financial accounting regardless of whether or not the student has chosen to major in accounting.

“Author and Pastor Guy Walker makes a convincing argument that God is about to call His people to embark on a modern day Exodus. Unlike the forced march of Biblical times which was from one geographic location to another, today God is calling His people to “come out of” the world’s financial system which has by and large, enslaved them. They have, of course, willingly accepted this bondage through their voracious appetite to consume goods and services that they cannot afford to pay for. The result is financial oppression through consumer debt that is stifling their spiritual life. Financial Exodus is a roadmap to freedom and true financial prosperity.God’s way. He is calling His people to no longer “be conformed to the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you might prove what the good and acceptable will of God is (for your life).” God has a plan for your deliverance.read Financial Exodus to find out what it is.”
